What is Thanksgiving Like in Ghana?

First of all, it is not a holiday here.  Their festivals in September and October are gratitude festivals.  But in the MTC and with the Senior Couples, we celebrate Thanksgiving.

Our cook Margaret and her staff put on the ritz today.  The missionaries from Nigeria had ebba, the ones from Ivory Coast had attieke, and the Americans had mashed potatoes, gravy, glazed carrots, and chicken.

Were they happy?  You tell us.

Meanwhile, what do couples serving in Africa do on Thanksgiving?  They eat.  Here they gather at President and Sister Hill's mission home and dined on turkey, cranberry, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls, gravy - everything you would find back home.

Including Pies.

Happy Thanksgiving from President and Sister Robison
