The elders in the Abinadi District have been in the MTC for 4 weeks. Reflecting back on what surprised them the most about their experience here, they said:
Elder Teaupa from Hawaii - "there are alot of similarities here with Tonga."
Elder Bretherton - "the lack of privacy"
Elder Barnes - "the humidity is sufficating and the driving is horrifying"
Elder Hammond - "how short everyone is"
Elder Gonzales - "the unfinished buildings that are everywhere"
Elder Wittig - "the burning of trash all over the place"
Elder Kincaid - "the ability of the street hawkers to run along side of cars with their product balanced on their heads"
Elder Arek - "the speed with which we are learning French"
Elder Ebere - "how easily riled up the Americans can get"
Brother Opoku (the teacher) - "how hard it is for Americans to stay focused"
